The sweetest day of the year is only a few days away! What better holiday than Valentines Day to treat yourself and your loved ones with a “sweet treats” board! NO baking required on this one! I bought most of these items at my local Trader Joes and the mini frosted cookies, M&Ms and heart gummies are all from Target. This board only cost about $30 to put together and is perfect for any Galentine’s Day part, small gathering or date night in.
Here are a few tips on creating the ultimate dessert board for your next party or gathering…
TIP ONE: Grab a board of your choice. I like to use ramekins for smaller items such as the M&M candies and gummy hearts. You can also use conversation hearts, Hershey kisses or mini marshmallows. Place them on the board first and then start filling your board.
TIP TWO: Next, pick a fruit of your choice! For a pop of red, I used strawberries. You can also use raspberries or red grapes…..place them on the corners of the board.
TIP THREE: Depending on the size of board you are using and the crowd you are serving, pick 3-4 cookies of your choice. I used raspberry filled shortbread cookies from Trader Joes, vanilla meringues and mini frosted cookies. Place the largest cookie in the center of the board and then add the others to the far edges of the board.
TIP FOUR: Now pick 2 chocolate sweets….I used chocolate covered caramels and chocolate covered pretzels, both from Trader Joe’s. Use them as a larger filler on each side of the board.
TIP FIVE: Fill your ramekins with your smaller items such as m&ms, gummy hearts or conversation hearts. Lastly, fill in any empty spaces. I grabbed mini chocolate covered hearts from Trader Joe’s. The KEY to the ultimate dessert board is to make it look FULL!
Enjoy! Happy Valentine’s Day!
