Looking for a quick weeknight dinner that you can even make ahead earlier in the day? Not only is this a family favorite but we usually have enough in leftovers for another night in the week! You can certainly substitute the sausage for ground meat or omit it to make it vegetarian style. Serve it with a salad and some warm bread and…YUM! Dinner is served!
TORTELLINI & SAUSAGE PASTA BAKE
1 pound mild Italian sausage
1 box of penne pasta
1 bag of frozen tortellini
1 jar of pasta sauce
Shredded parmesan cheese
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Boil penne pasta and tortellini in two separate pots, following package directions. Drain once cooked. While pasta is boiling, brown sausage over medium heat in large saucepan. Drain any extra grease or fat. In one large casserole dish, add pasta, tortellini and sausage. {If you don’t have a large enough casserole dish, split them into two}. Gently toss together and then add pasta sauce. Mix well. Top with shredded parmesan cheese and bake for 30-45 minutes or until heated through.
