There is nothing better than an organized pantry! This was a bit of a project as we transformed this closet and gave it a total makeover, but once that was done I got to work on the fun part…organizing the space! After a few trips to the store, I was able to find bins, baskets and containers that worked for food storage and in this space! I LOVE how it all turned out {and the pop of wallpaper makes the space}! I am sharing a few tips on how to stay organized in your own pantry!
TIP #1 – Plan it out and then create a designated bin/basket or shelf for each food category. I shopped Target, Home Goods and The Container Store for all the bins and baskets. It was a bit of a puzzle but once I had all the bins and baskets in place, I was easily able to designate for each. That is the key to organization…once everything has a place, it’s easy to store, unpack and put away, and maintain!
I utilized the bins and baskets for so my family can easily grab and go, pack lunches and prepare meals. The baskets were used to organize breads and chips, school lunches and snacks and desserts such as cookies. Again, once everything has a designated spot, it’s easy to maintain. It also helps as I am building a grocery list as I can easily see what we are low on and need to replenish.
TIP #2 – Use clear containers and canisters for pantry staples. I love the Oxo POP Containers! They come in a ton of shapes and sizes, are stackable which is a great space saver and keep food fresh! I store food items we don’t use on a daily basis such as flour and sugar, bread crumbs and coconut flakes. To clearly see what is in the container, I used labels that were purchased on Amazon.
TIP #3 – Use larger baskets for overflow or back stock. I learned quickly that not everything fits in the container, or it doesn’t need to go all out at once. I used larger baskets at the bottom for back stock and it has worked well. We can easily replenish when needed or store items that don’t fit on the shelving or in the baskets.
With some pretty bins and baskets, clear containers, canisters and labels you can easily have your own organized pantry at home! Shop my pantry below!
