It’s been a long time coming! This hodge podge mess of a closet got a total makeover and I am loving how it turned out! With a little bit of love, we turned this closet into a functioning pantry. This was a quick and easy weekend project that anyone can do!
Here is a before picture of what I call our mess of a closet! It held a bit of everything as we waited on our mudroom cabinets to be completed. We had been storing all our food and pantry items in large cabinet in our kitchen but we were quickly running out of room. Turning this closet in to a true pantry was the best solution as we needed more space.
First, I removed everything from the shelves and then removed the actual shelving. We wanted to replace the shelves with something that was a bit wider and found the perfect solution at our local hardware store.
Once the shelves were all removed, I did some touch up painting to the walls and the moulding. The back wall got a pop of fun with wallpaper. I used a peel and stick and in just a few hours the whole closet already started to look different.
Lastly, we added the new shelving. We hit up our local Home Depot and found closet shelving in white that worked perfect for the space. They come in different lengths and widths so you can really customize for your needs.
Now, the fun part….organizing the pantry! I shopped for bins, baskets and containers to hold all our food and pantry staples. We really have more space in here and I am loving the change! I think my favorite part may just be the pop of wallpaper in the back!
