Even when we aren’t in the middle of a pandemic and asked to stay at home, I usually do work out at home! I set aside 30-45 minutes a day and all you really need is a yoga mat and a set of handweights, I have a set of 5 pounds and a set of 8 pounds.
Here are my go tos, most are free, and I love the variety of workouts each provide. I do like to mix it up each day…yoga, weights and cardio, pilates or even simply take a walk/jog around the neighborhood on a nice spring day. As we are all “stuck at home” I still feel its important to get our daily exercise in. Most days the kids even join me (or watch me LOL) and its has become part of our new daily routine. I hope this motivates you to get up and get moving!
POPSUGAR Fitness on YouTube – This is by far my FAVORITE channels on YouTube. It’s free and there are over 500 workouts….strength, cardio, yoga and more! You can access the channel here.
Tone It Up on YouTube – I love this channel equally as much! Created by the Tone It Up team they have a variety of workouts, some are shorter that you can combine but these girls are motivating and great if you are shorter on time and want to get a quick workout in. They do have a paid app as well that offers more workouts. You can access the channel here.
Yoga with Adriene on YouTube – I love squeezing in a good yoga workout a few times a week. Yoga with Adriene is my favorite on YouTube. Her workout videos are endless, she has one for EVERYTHING. And she often does 30 day challenges throughout the year (or you can just find one of them and start one yourself). My kids love jumping in when I do any of these. If you love yoga, you will love Yoga with Adriene. You can access the channel here.
MadFit on YouTube – Another channel I love when I want to change things up. She offers a variety of workouts for all fitness levels and they are all motivating and a great way to get up and get moving. You can access the channel here.
SarahBeth Yoga on YouTube – Another fave of mine for yoga. Sarah Beth Yoga has videos for all levels and ones that target and tone, all 5 to 30 minutes. I switch it up between Sarah Beth and Yoga with Adriene. You can access the channel here.
I hope these workout channels I shared get you up and motivated…at home! We have the YouTube app downloaded on our Apple TV and that is how I usually do them. You can also watch them right from your phone or iPad. Whatever is easiest for you to get going and get your exercise in.
A few other ways to get moving – take a walk or bike ride around the neighborhood, fresh air is good for the body and soul! I have also heard the following fitness apps are great: obé Fitness, Peleton at home fitness (you don’t need the Peleton bike), and ClassPass Fitness.
Get up and get moving! xoxo
