This is a collaborated post with Hudson Valley Lighting. All opinions are my own.
For awhile now, I have been wanting to do a refresh in our kitchen! The truth is, I have never really loved our island lights! They were bought in the early design phase of our home, on a whim at a small design shop in Franklin, TN. I think I was honestly super excited about our build and anxious to start buying things. Don’t get me wrong, the pendant lights were classic and simple but honestly just way too small for our island and they got lost in the space.
I am so excited to have been given the opportunity to work with Hudson Valley Lighting on a kitchen refresh. I knew I wanted lights that were classic and timeless in style and that would work well in our open concept space. After browsing their website, I fell in love with their Haverhill pendants. I loved the details on these light fixtures and they are honestly prettier in person! They couldn’t be more perfect for our space.
They are available in 4 different finishes and 3 different sizes. I got them in a satin nickel finish to complement our appliances and because of the size of our island, went with a 12″ in diameter pendant light! It truly made a huge different compared to our old pendant lights which were only 8″.
I also love the light the Haverhill pendant lights give off. It is such a nice, bright light and perfect task lighting for over a kitchen island.
I am loving the simple change that honestly made a big impact to this whole space. If I could give any piece of advice, it is to literally stand in your space…get an idea of the size of the room, how big your island actually is. and then start the search for light fixtures. It is so hard to visualize a space on a piece of paper.

What lightbulbs did you use and how did you clean them?

We just used standard bulbs! I just dust them regularly with a dust cloth.
