Thanksgiving is just two weeks away! Today, I am sharing an simple tablescape that can easily be created in your own home! I used items from my own kitchen and clippings from my yard. I bought nothing for this table and I hope it inspires you to “shop your house” when setting your own Thanksgiving table.
I first used a runner I have had for years to set the tone for my table. It’s a simple black and white neutral stripe that gives off a more casual feel. Don’t get me wrong, I love a fancy night out but for Thanksgiving I like to create a more laidback, casual feel. For guests that have been driving all day or for those that have spent the day cooking in the kitchen, it’s nice to just relax around the table for Thanksgiving dinner.
Instead of a bouquet of flowers, I placed in a neutral vase magnolia leaves cut right from the yard. I love the look of magnolia and it’s a bit unexpected. Plus these will last much longer than a vase of flowers.
I them placed two white pumpkins on either side of the vase and filled the rest in with clear, glass votive candles.
For each place setting, I used my white dinner dishes. I could have pulled out the fancy china from the basement, but again…going for a more casual vibe. I placed one dinner plate down, then folded lengthwise in 3s a dinner napkin on top. Then I placed the salad plate on top. I love placing the napkin in between. Again, it’s unexpected and adds a subtle pop of color to the place setting. I then placed a mini white pumpkin and sprig of eucalyptus on top of each plate.
Again, this table costs no money to put together and was simple and easy to put together! I love the neutral tones with the pops of greenery from the magnolia leaves and eucalyptus. You can even go an extra step and add some placecards to the table.
Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving whether spending it at home or away!
