I have gotten tons of questions lately on the eucalyptus centerpiece I have on our dining room table. Would you believe that is fresh eucalyptus I bought at our local grocery store in October 2017?
It was pretty simple to dry out. My biggest tip is to make sure the eucalyptus is as fresh as it can be. The leaves on mine were even pretty moist when I purchased them. After I brought them home, I cut the stems to fit in my vase and then simple placed them in the vase. And that is it! They have dried out naturally in the vase and I have experienced no curling or brown edges on the leaves.
Because the eucalyptus was so fresh, it really helped in drying it out! It has been suggested to keep it hydrated for at least a few hours before drying out. I found my eucalyptus at our local grocery store, Wegmans and have also seen it at Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s. The kind I have is called silver dollar because of the large, round leaves. I honestly love the look of eucalyptus alone in large vase and it also makes great filler in a flower arrangement.
