If I could pick one drink, it would be a classic margarita, on the rocks! In honor of Cinco de Mayo, I am sharing my brother-in-law’s “famous” margarita recipe! Fresh limes, tequila…delish!
CLASSIC MARGARITA
1 2/3 cups tequila
1/4 cup Grand Marnier
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
1 teaspoon lime zest
5 tablespoons sugar
1 cup water
coarse salt & lime slices/wedges
Add sugar and water to large pitcher and mix until sugar dissolves. Add tequila, Grand Marnier, lime juice and zest. Refrigerate for at 2 least 2 hours but for no more than 24 hours. Optional: rub rims of glasses with coarse salt and serve on the rocks or straight. Garnish with lime slices or wedges. Salud!
