What’s Thanksgiving without cranberry sauce? Fresh cranberries are key to this recipe, add some citrus and in under 15 minutes you are done. The best part of this recipe is you can make ahead and store it in the fridge until Thanksgiving Day. That’s one less side dish you need to prep on Turkey Day. Enjoy!
CITRUS CRANBERRY SAUCE
1 cup water
1 1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 red grapefruit, juiced
1/2 blood orange, juice
1 teaspoon zest of grapefruit
1 teaspoon zest of orange
1 bag of fresh cranberries
Bring to a boil the water and sugar, mixing until the sugar is dissolved. Add juice and zest of both grapefruit and orange. Add fresh cranberries and turn heat to medium. Cook until cranberries start to pop, about 10-12 minutes, frequently stirring. Chill in sealed container in fridge up to two day before.
