The countdown to Halloween is on! My kids have been begging me to pull out the Halloween decor, more importantly, our skelton, Mr Skelly. I thought it would be fun to decorate while they were in school and surprise them when they got home. Needless to say, lots of smiles around here and we are all a bit more in the Halloween spirit!
It didn’t take much to make them happy! I went for a black and gray theme again this year, used a few things I had last year and only bought a few items to change things up! I love the way it all came together! Still simply styled {nothing too crazy}, it doesn;t overwhelm our space and sure made my sweets happy!
I used a few of the same pieces as last year….my gray candlesticks, left my tobacco basket up and the bats!!! Those are a Halloween staple now! This year I made it look like they were flying through the tobacco basket and also draped my gray gauze from Target over the basket. It was fun to switch things up this year!
I also added the black letters to spell out “BOO”. Those were a Michael’s find and the possibilities are endless! I think they make the mantle and fit perfectly right in the center.
I also used the skelton head and black and gray pumpkins again this year. Those were Target finds last year but they either have them again or something very similar this year.
Another new addition, was the black “spooky” tree! A Target dollar spot find for only $5, I love the symmetry it gives to the mantle!
It didn’t take much to get in the Halloween spirit! Are you ready for the spookiest day of the year?
