It was certainly time for a bit of a refresh in my oldest daughter’s room! She had been begging me for awhile and we finally had some time over the summer to get it all finished up. Keep on reading about all the changes we made to the space to give her a beachy chic makeover.
First step in this room makeover was painting her room. We went from Repose Gray to Alabaser White by Sherwin Williams {which is also the same color our main living spaces are painted}. The white really freshened and brightened up the whole room and was a great base for the beachy chich vibe Emma was going for.
Next, we grounded the whole space with a new rug from Boutique Rugs. We searched and searched online for the perfect rug and fell in love with the Ramsbury rug in ivory and blue from Boutique Rugs. Next we upgraded her mattress to a queen which meant a new headboard. I found this headboard and frame on Home Depot for a great price during a summer sale. It was easy to assemble and really nice quality for the price.
To finish the space, we added a new nightstand from Wayfair, a mirror and I repainted her existing dresser. We added some new beach themed accessories found at Home Goods.
We also repainted her old desk that she is now using as a makeup vanity. A fresh coat of paint was exactly what it needed. The chair was a great find at RH Outlet. And the fiddle leaf…boy, has that grown! She loves it in her room and it loves all the natural light!
Lastly, we couldn’t forget wall decor! I downloaded a few prints off of Etsy, had them printed at my local Walgreens and then framed. They were exactly the finishing touch the space needed!
She truly loves the space and it’s a style that I know she will love for many more years! Now my younger daughter is begging for a room makeover now! Stay tuned for more!
