It is time to start decking the halls and I always get the front porch done first! Things look a bit different with my new doormat and I added a fun find to the center of my wreaths.
The past few years, I have been draping fresh cedar garland across my doors. I love the way it drapes and looks and it smells delish.
I snagged two winter wreaths from Trader Joe’s and hung them from the doors with black striped ribbon. I love the black and white striped ribbon. It’s neutral enough to leave up well after the holidays.
This year I snagged two sets of brass bells from Kirkland’s. I hung them from the center of the wreath and love the look. I had been eyeing a set for years from an online shop but couldn’t justify spending that much. These were a steal on sale for under $8 each!
I found the sweetest tree at Home Depot too! I love the container it comes in! It looks like a birch log and the best part, the tree can be planted in our yard in the spring! It even came decorated with some bronze bells that added a nice festive touch!
I am still loving the look my new doormat gave to our whole front porch! Layered with the black and white striped rug, everything really pops!
Here is a look at our side entry! I made the sign at an AR Workshop a few years ago and draped leftover garland along the top of the bench for an extra festive touch.
I will soon be moving on to the inside of our home and getting it all ready for the holiday season! ‘Tis the season!

Hi! Can you tell me what color stain your door is? Is it fiberglass? Struggling to pick my exterior stain for posts and truss on porch as well as door – love your color!

We have Therma Tru doors that are part of their Rustic collection. We stained them using their same day stain kit in walnut, one light coat. Thank you!

What color were the doors originally? Did you just get plain white and stain over that, or did you order one of their wood colors?

Our doors are from ThermaTru and part of their rustic collection. They are a stainable door and were a light brown color when ordered. We stained them ourselves using their same day stain kit in walnut.
